BCGA releases a revised version of its TIS 22 connected gas cylinder

The British Compressed Gases Association (BCGA) has published a revision to its TIS 22 Connecting gas cylinders, detailing safety procedures when connecting gas cylinders to equipment.


Focusing on specific operating instructions relevant to the use of toxic and corrosive gases, the revision features a connection procedure that can be used with either individual cylinders or cylinder bundles.


The procedure consists of a 13-step method which covers the entire connection procedure process from ensuring the cylinder valve is closed and conducting visual inspections through to final leak checks and pressure release and purging.
