Properly store steel

Since the gas cylinder is a pressure vessel, the following precautions must be taken during storage to prevent suffocation, fire, explosion, high pressure and injury caused by mishandling the compressed gas cylinder.

The following acts are prohibited

    1. The storage temperature exceeds 52℃;

    2. Smoking or open flames in oxide or flammable gas storage areas;

    3. Expose the cylinder to a corrosive environment.

Correct operating behavior

    1. Store cylinders vertically;

    2. Fix the cylinder during storage, handling or use;

    3. Store cylinders in a dedicated area;

    4. Separate full and empty bottles;

    5. Store cylinders in a dry, cool, weather-proof place, and away from combustible materials;

    6. Keep flammable or combustible materials and oxides at least 20 feet apart;

    7. Monitor the air in areas where gas may be vented and accumulated;

    8. Use the first-in first-out inventory system to prevent the full bottle from being stored for a long time;

    9. Store only the amount of compressed gas required for the specific application;

  10. Cylinders should be stored away from places where people often come and go and emergency exits;

  11. Provide adequate access for cylinder operations;

  12. Regularly or at least weekly visually inspect stored cylinders for any signs of leakage or problems;

  13. Restrict access to cylinder storage areas;

  14. Prevent the cylinder from touching wet or damp ground.
