Somalia's first public oxygen plant opens

As parts of Africa continue the fight against Covid-19, Somalia has opened its first public oxygen plant on October 1., said source.


The plant will be installed at the Banadir Maternity and Children Hospital, which was previously partially destroyed by Islamist militants in July.


According to reports, the country has one of the highest case fatality rates on the continent, making the need for a public oxygen plant even more vital.


The facility's expected oxygen cylinder production is 1,000 per week.
